Healing Acne The Natural Way

November 2nd, 2009

Hey Kyle here,

If you’re looking for the best way to get rid of acne, then I’m glad you’ve found this website and I strongly suggest you keep reading….

Because this is my uncensored healing acne story. The ups, the downs, what stuff didn’t work and finally the one thing that did help me get amazingly clear skin.

A few months ago I found myself in place probably not much different than yours. The years of acne suffering were taking their toll on me. My confidence was at an all time low. The pimples were coming out of nowhere, reeking havoc on my social life and my confidence. I had whiteheads, blackheads, blemishes, neck acne, back acne, you name it, I had it. I was super insecure and embarrassed about my skin. As the years passed and I became an adult, I was becoming more and more distraught about my acne and simply at the end of my rope. Thankfully, I found the one thing that did work.

When I first started getting pimples, I was hurried to the dermatologist and prescribed acne creams, acne lotion, pills and told a million things to do that would give me clear skin. Well, hundreds of dollars and prescriptions later, I still suffered from the ravages of teenage acne. Not to mention the unknown toll all these chemicals might be taking on my body.

During this time, I tried over the counter acne products. On went the acne cream, down went the acne pills and still, my breakouts didn’t stop. In fact, they seemed to get worse the more acne treatments I tried. I sensed a pattern: expensive chemicals that made big promises but didn’t work. I was starting to think that I would have to suffer my entire life. Thankfully it never came to that.

In a last ditch effort; I turned to home remedies for acne. Perhaps you have tried a few? Well, we probably both got similar results. Yeap, still more pimples and blemishes. At this point, I was nearly in tears. I felt like a victim-all the insecurity and social outings I missed at the hands of a pimply face.

But there is a happy ending to this story. Eventually, in my search for remedies for acne, I stumbled across a pimple remedy that did work. This was the first solution that treated the cause of my acne and not just the obvious and ugly symptoms. Gone were the days of harsh creams and pointless home remedy pimple treatments.
Click here to see the product I’m talking about. The only downfall was that I had to be very disciplined from my skin care to my diet. But boy was it ever worth it! I never thought this day would come and I hope you find freedom from acne like I did.

Well, that’s all for now. I hope you found this information and my story useful. If you want, you can Click here to see the program that finally cured my acne.

My Top Acne Treatments You Haven’t Heard Of

November 1st, 2009

As you can imagine, having suffered from acne for over 10 years, I amassed quite a long list of acne treatments and remedies. I’ve seen and tried everything from honey facials to $200 acne cream. And let me tell you, almost all of them are junk.

Instead of letting you suffer from more embarrassing blemishes and go through the list of ineffective acne skin treatment that so many prescribe, I decided to take my 3 best skincare tips and tricks, all of them of them completely natural and effective. Here goes…

1. One day while surfing the web and icing yet another nasty pimple (btw, icing is another one of those pimple remedies that doesn’t work…at least not for me), I found a little article on how shampoos and conditioners can cause your pores to clog and that you should wash your face after you wash your hair. I thought I’d give it a try, what’s one more acne home treatment gonna hurt? I started washing my face AFTER rinsing off the shampoo and conditioner. I was amazed at the results. My skin started to clear a bit and now I am a firm believer in this method.

2. As you may or may not know, bacteria on your skin are a major cause of both blackheads and whiteheads. Do you know one of the easiest ways to reduce all those dirty buggers from preventing you from having beautiful clear skin? That would be drying your face with a towel. Bath towels harbor tons of bacteria that get transferred to your face and in turn, make removing acne almost impossible. The solution? Try drying with paper towel instead to keep the bacteria at bay.

3. Finally, this last one is something you may not know about. I used to have bad neck acne as well as back acne. I eventually came to find out that part of the cause was my laundry detergent. Sure enough, as soon as I made the switch, my clear made improvements. So if you have chronic acne problems on your body, try switching detergent to a more natural brand and you may notice a difference in your skin.

New Treatments For Acne Scars

October 31st, 2009

Acne can be a stressful and an emotionally draining problem to suffer with.  Many of the those who who have had acne end of with ugly skin marks and even worse, the life long marks of their condition known as acne scars.  Acne scarring can have serious effects on a person’s confidence and emotional health. However, when it comes to healing acne and acne scars, there are many options for treating acne scars.  Thankfully, there have been big advances in acne scar removal in the last 10 years.  It is important to note that even the best acne treatment can’t heal acne scars completely.

Creams and Gels – There are many types of acne scar cream that claim to reduce the appearance of acne scarring. Some contain Vitamin E and other nutrients to help heal the skin. Mederma is a popular brand name in case you were wondering. Many people report that it can improve scars in as little as 8 weeks for new scars, or 6 months for older scars. Results with topical ointments like this will vary from person to person.  You should really talk with your dermatologist to see if this is a good option in scar reduction.

Surgical Therapy  AKA Dermabrasion – This form of acne scar solution uses a motorized skin sanding (for lack of a better term), which usually contains tiny diamonds.  Why diamonds?  Because they are very strong abrasives when in a powder-form. A scab will form once the procedure is completed. Once the wound is healed, a smooth pink layer of new skin will appear. This is much the same concept as sanding an old desk to revel the smooth, fresh wood underneath.  Multiple treatments are often necessary, and each one can cost $1500.   Like laser acne scar removal, which I’ll talk about next, dermabrasion can be used even for those who don’t have acne scarring or pimple marks as a way to improve skin tone and texture.

Laser Acne Therapy – Using lasers for healing acne and the removing acne scars is a new technology, but is one of the most promising options for those who suffer from acne scarring. The lasers remove the scarred skin, and encourage growth of new skin in its place. After treatment, the skin will be pink and swollen for one to two weeks.  During this time, bandages need to be kept over the skin to prevent infection and to help heal acne scars. It takes months for the skin to return to normal, but most people will see less noticeable scars and smoother skin. Laser scar treatment can be quite expensive, however.  It is also interesting to note that lasers can be used to cure acne and get rid of pimple before it gets to late and acne scars form.

Collagen Skin Injection – This is a temporary fix, where the patient’s own body fat or collagen is injected into the scar site. This works well for some people with deep-pitted scars. The material injected serves to raise the skin, and reduce the pitted appearance, and wrinkling from the scar. However, this procedure needs to be repeated every 6 months and can be expensive.

How to Get Rid of Acne

October 17th, 2009

Here’s a great video about getting rid of acne that I found while doing research for my healing acne blog. It coves the basics of skin care such as washing your face properly and what to do about existing acne. It also has some great tips and strategies to keep your skin oil free and clear of pimples. But what I like most is that the video recommends some great products for your face such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Enjoy!

Healing Acne Starts With Knowledge

October 12th, 2009

There a hundreds was ways you can go about healing acne. Methods range from prescription acne products you get from a dermatologist such as Tazorac, to over the counter products to natural acne treatments such as applying food products to your skin. But what all these products fail to do is teach the causes of acne and to heal them from the inside out.

First, a quick lesson about the skin. Your face is covered with hundreds of follicles, also known as pores. These pores secrete an oil called sebum, which hydrates the skin and hair. This is also why when you have oily skin, it is this sebum that is causing the shine.

When you are in your teenage years and even beyond, the follicles expand and more sebum is released. This is a natural process and also is very necessary to keep your skin and hair healthy.

So how does this explain your acne? Well, when these pores get plugged either by dirt, dead skin cells, or irritation, the bacteria and sebum gets trapped under the skin. This trapped fluid quickly turns into a blemish and then a whitehead as the pimple grows.

On the contrary, a blackhead occurs when the pore opens to the surface, and the sebum, oxidizes and turns black in color. It is not dirt and can be washed away. Blackheads can last for a long time because the contents very slowly drain to the surface.

Now that you understand how whiteheads and blackheads are formed you can better understand what is causing you to break out and to create a better skincare routine.

Healing acne takes time and discipline, but here are a few acne tips in hopes of getting you closer to your goal of clear skin.

- Are you exfoliating enough? Skin cells are constantly being shed and you need to keep your face clean of the old ones so they don’t clog your pores
- Are you using a strong enough acne soap? Many people simply don’t use a strong enough acne soap or don’t leave it on their face long enough to get rid of all the oil.
- Is your skin too dry? Many believe that keeping the skin dry will prevent pimples. However, dry skin can become irritated, which in turn will only make things work. So don’t fear a good moisturizer.

Healing Acne Methods That Plain Don’t Work

September 20th, 2009

Here’s an interesting factoid about acne pimples , they are the number one disease in the entire world! Given this, it’s surprising to see how much bad information there is about healing acne and acne treatments. On top of bad info regarding healing acne fast, there are the plethora of acne home remedies that have no scientific backing or proof, but continue to be passed on from individual to individual. It bugs me that some of these common ways of healing acne marks miss the mark and actually make things worse. Here are some common acne treatments that plain don’t work in healing acne.

1. Some people think that cleaners and chemicals found around the house can treat acne. However, by putting these chemicals on your face and skin, you will destroy the tissue and pH of the skin and thus, do little to clear acne.

2.Dish liquid does not an acne solutions you should try, yet people still do it.

3.Home facial saunas do little in treating acne and in fact can cause redness and blemishes.

4.Any sort of tape stuck on the skin and torn off may remove oil or dead skin cells form the fact but like many of these acne remedies, they aggravate the sensitive skin and can cause more acne breakouts.

5.It has been long believed that the sun helps prevent acne as well as act as a natural acne treatment. This is simply not true. The added tan may make acne pimples from looking more noticeable but it won’t stop you from continuing to get whiteheads or blackheads. Also, if you are taking certain acne treatment prescriptions from a dermatologist, it may make you more sensitive to the sun.

6.Taking any type of vitamin in a high dose is not one of the natural acne cures I would recommend. Plainly put, it’s not healthy and it hasn’t been shown to get rid of acne.

7.Popping whiteheads, blackheads or pimples is universally not recommended especially for face acne. Doing so spreads acne bacteria across your face and can also lead to acne scars or pimple marks.

There are many other ‘acne solutions that simply don’t work that I couldn’t list. Bottom line is if it isn’t natural or didn’t from the ground or a plant, then don’t put in on your face or eat it. This is probably not what a dermatologist would tell you but can you really trust strange chemicals in acne products or a doctor 100% of the time?
